You know all that community service time you've been racking up? Well here's your chance to work some off. We're celebrating our 20th anniversary at the Main Street Music Festival on Saturday, October 16th at the City Market. It's going to be a big event and we're going to need a lot of volunteers. More on this in a few paragraphs. Come to Ellington Fridays this Friday and bring your friends. This Friday it's the Amazing Steve Freeman Band. Steve has been rocking Lynchburg's house since the Rockerfellas and is doing it better now than ever. Albermarle Catering continues to provide superior victuals and, for the time being anyway, it's still only $5. We got the season off to a great start earlier this month with the Dog Boys. They put on thier typical, eclectic masterpiece of a show, and all our old friends and some new ones filled the seats. Now back to the Main Street Music Festival. The Manhattans (Let's Just Kiss and Say Goodbye and other soul classics) share the big Main Street Market stage with blues diva and Ellington Favorite, E.C. Scott. Seriously, we need a lot of volunteers. We need volunteers to man the admission gates, to put wrist bands on folks, to take their money and give them beer tickets, to pour beers from the beer truck, even walk through the crowd and finger people behaving inappropriately (I want that job.)
